How to land the perfect job, and what interview questions to ask

The wrong interview questions can cost you your dream job.

On average, I receive twenty resumes for various positions at Isom Global Strategies (IGS): marketing, graphic design, web design, public relations, multimedia, and digital marketing. I invite only one or two candidates to interview, and less than half of those receive an offer. Some may say I’m picky—I am. The high turnover of wishy-washy employees compromises the company’s bottom-line. Our struggling education system, the lack of proper training tools to prepare millennials entering the workplace, and Gen-Xers and baby boomers poorly equipped to keep up in the changing workplace sets up our country’s economy for a heavy blow.

I decided to teach Interview Insights after being completely frustrated with the current employee pool, even freelancers. It wastes time and money to screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and meet candidates who aren’t prepared for the interview process and have no career strategy. Many companies are now outsourcing jobs to India and other countries to cut back on expenses and reduce employee turnover.
