Career Strategist to Millennials

Millennial Life Coach

For more than 20 years I have screened, hired, interviewed, and terminated numerous employees. There are many nuances to selecting the right employee for a position, including whether they can get through the interview.

I have wasted so much time interviewing people who sent a kick-a$$ resume but were extremely disappointing in person. Or they pass the interview but prove to be wishy-washy as employees, resulting in high turnover that compromises the company’s bottom line. I fault our struggling education system, the lack of proper training to prepare Millennials to enter the workplace, and the fact that many Gen-Xers and Baby Boomers are not equipped to keep up in the changing workplace. All of this has set up our country’s economy for a heavy blow.

Millennial Life Coach

I am so committed to ensuring that Millennials enter the workplace prepared that I host monthly webinars on various Millennial Workplace topics. In addition, my TowanIsomCEO YouTube videos give Millennials career tools and advice for starting their own business.

Many companies now outsource jobs to India and other countries to cut back on expenses and reduce employee turnover. With the average Millennial attrition at 18 months, it’s becoming increasingly challenging for small businesses to hire and train Millennials because it costs the too much when, as soon as  you train them, they leave.

I’ve coached and trained more than 160 employees throughout my career. The ones who listened to me moved on to work for major firms like Ogilvy, Red Peg, Booz Allen, Fors Marsh Group, AARP, and other large organizations. The ones who didn’t are stuck in a mediocre existence between possibility and promise. The difference is their attitude and whether or not they possess a sense of humility.

If you are a Millennial and you need career advice, opt-in for Towan’s monthly insights, webinars, and tips on how to build a professional brand in the workplace.
